In today’s busy world everyone is focused on attaining success. Every Christian too wants to attain growth in spiritual & material life. Before we focus on progress let’s examine our personal life, its good we attend church regularly, participate in all youth activities, volunteer for social activities - Praise God for giving us the grace to perform all this.

Daily Standup with Jesus

But above all these do we personally take time to talk to Jesus, spend at least few minutes in the ‘Quiet time’ wherein our soul is connected to the creator not only to express our petitions but to understand His plan and purpose in our lives.

Dear friends in these ‘Last days’, its very essential to have a Quiet time in the presence of God, we have to be rooted in Him to overcome all the trials and tribulations.

Let me try correlating our daily prayer time with Jesus to the daily standup meetings the corporate’s have and brief out the significance of “Daily standup with Jesus”.

Currently the buzzword in software is ‘agile’, everything is happening in a short time with the main focus of meeting the requirement, satisfying the client which in turn means profit to the organization.

Well what is the strategy that drives agile process to success?

Although there are many technical things involved, for our understanding I would like to bring up few significant key features.

1. They have a daily stand up meeting before starting their work to make sure everyone has clear understanding of his role and tasks. This is helpful in eliminating all the confusions and also makes sure the project status is drawn towards the target.

As a child of most high God, we should also have a daily meeting with Jesus. Wait in His presence and draw strength to face each new day. The bible says in Isaiah 58:9 “Then you will call and the Lord will answer, you will cry for help and He will say here am I”, again Isaiah 58:11 says “The Lord will guide you always”.

Dear friend are you confused in life, unable to make right decisions, wait on God in the Quiet time, He will direct your ways as per Psalms 32:8 (I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye.),

Or are you a back slider and now regret, Jesus longs to give you another chance, fix your eyes on Jesus and He will remove your sins faraway as far as the east is from the west (Psalms 103:12).

So during your daily stand up with Jesus talk about your weaknesses and inabilities and he will make a way through the wilderness and His presence will grant us victory.

May be your in a situation wherein you’ve done your best to please God and still waiting for a breakthrough, schedule a daily stand up with Jesus and His presence will give you an assurance and you can hear a still small voice of Holy Spirit saying “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.” [Jer 29:11]

2. The next point in ‘agile’ process is that after every 4-5 weeks all the teams would meet up to ensure their product is as per the Customer’s requirement. All the product risks are addressed, and the management extends help where-ever needed be it hardware approval or resources support.

In a similar we need to have a ‘heart searching’ prayer in a timely manner to make sure if we are in right standing with God. Probably the ideal time would be the Holy Communion/church fellowship, wherein we come together in the Church before we part take the holy body and blood of Christ.

During the confession hour we analyze our life style, recollect all the sins we have committed and plead for His forgiveness, peace and grace. The Bible says that he who confesses his sins and regrets and reconciles with God will gain eternal life.

Probably we might think that we are doing Christ’s work, following His commandments but still there’s something which is not working as per our plan, during our ‘heart searching prayer’ with heavenly Father we need to openly confess our inabilities and helplessness and seek Him for his help and strength. Once we reach out to God for help we can see His power manifested in our lives as per Psalms 107:20 – The Lord sends His word and heals His people.

  1. Another point in ‘agile’ process is that everyone team member works really hard and co-ordinate with each other to complete their deliverables within the planned date.

Hard work definitely yields success but it demands dedication and perseverance along with focus. So we along with the help of Holy Spirit having girded our loins with truth and having the breastplate of righteousness (Ephe 6:14) should be prepared to spread the gospel of peace.

Dear friends remember to recognize and stand firm in your ‘Call’, always consider Mathew 7 – 21:23 to be a good reminder or rather a warning for each believer wherein Jesus himself spoke the following “Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. On that day many will say to me, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?' And then will I declare to them, 'I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.'

To conclude – dear friends we should take time to have a daily meeting with Christ be it morning or evening. This is very essential to understand God’s plan and purpose in our life. We can be open with God and explain all our problems and trials; He is a faithful God and gives us more grace and strength to face all life’s battles, for in our weakness His strength is perfected.

May God help us to recognize and finish His plans and purposes in our lives and that we should be able to confess like Paul “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Henceforth there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will award to me on that Day, and not only to me but also to all who have loved his appearing.

“All you have to do is have fellowship with God’s children and attend church regularly and apply God’s word in our lives. Have a closer walk with Jesus and you will definitely succeed.”
